Is OpenLoad really free?

Yes. The web app is free forever with all 13 editors and core AI Copilot included. We may introduce paid tiers in the future for things like custom domains and high-volume LLM usage, but the free tier will never get worse.

Where is my data stored?

On our managed MongoDB cluster in the EU by default. You can also self-host OpenLoad on your own infrastructure — the entire stack is bundled and deployable to any container host. See the GitHub repo for instructions.

Which AI models do you use?

Claude Sonnet 4.5 for text generation and orchestration, GPT-5.2 / GPT Image 1 for image-related tasks, Gemini 3 / Nano Banana for multimodal. All access is brokered through the Emergent Universal LLM Key — you don't need to bring your own API keys to use the standard AI features.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Every doc type exports to its native format (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, PNG/JPG, JSON). Bulk export of your entire workspace is available from Settings → Account → Export.

Does real-time collaboration work offline?

Edits made while offline are saved locally and synced via Yjs the moment your connection is restored. Conflicts are auto-resolved using CRDT operational transforms — no 'merge hell' modals.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete account. We immediately remove your documents from primary storage and purge backups within 30 days. Self-hosters can wipe their DB at any time.

Do you have a desktop app?

Yes for Linux — download the AppImage from /downloads. macOS (.dmg) and Windows (.exe) builds are on a waitlist while we sign and notarize them. PWA install works on every platform today (look for the 'Install' button in your browser's address bar).

Can I embed my docs anywhere?

Yes. Every doc, sheet, slide, PDF, image, form and published site can be embedded with a single iframe snippet from the editor's Embed button. Auto-resize via postMessage is included.

Can I use my own domain for published sites?

Accepted Answer

Yes, custom domains are supported — point a CNAME at our edge and verify ownership in the Site settings. DNS proxy infra for path-based routing is on the roadmap (P3).
