How to use OpenLoad

Short, step-by-step guides for every major feature. Start with the basics and work up to the advanced AI flows.

Create your first document
Set up an account, create your first doc, and invite a collaborator — all in under 3 minutes.
  1. 1Sign up with email or Google at openload.app/login.
  2. 2From the dashboard, click 'New file' and pick 'Document'.
  3. 3Type a title — autosave fires every 800ms.
  4. 4Click 'Share' in the top-right, paste your teammate's email, choose 'Edit' permission.
  5. 5Done — both of you can co-edit in real time via Yjs WebSocket sync.
Use the AI Copilot
Summarise, rewrite, translate, generate slides from a doc — all from a single ⌘+J shortcut.
  1. 1Press ⌘+J (Mac) or Ctrl+J (Win/Linux) anywhere in the app.
  2. 2Type your goal in plain English: 'turn this doc into a 5-slide pitch deck'.
  3. 3Copilot picks the right tools (create_slide_deck, read_doc, finish) and runs them step by step.
  4. 4Click any created doc card to deep-link straight into the new editor.
  5. 5Tip: try /ai-summarise inside a doc to use slash-AI instead of the global Copilot.
Slash commands cheat-sheet
Drop tables, callouts, columns, toggles, YouTube embeds, KaTeX math and more — all from the / menu.
  1. 1Inside any Document, type a forward slash '/'.
  2. 2Pick from 18 commands: headings, lists, tables, images, callouts, columns, toggles, YouTube, math, loops, AI tools.
  3. 3Pro tip: /math accepts LaTeX (e.g. \frac{a}{b}) and renders via KaTeX inline.
  4. 4/youtube parses any URL (youtu.be, youtube.com/watch?v=…, embed/…) or raw 11-char video ID.
Set up a Team
Create channels, post threaded messages, get AI thread summaries, see live presence dots.
  1. 1Go to /teams from the sidebar.
  2. 2Click 'New team' — pick a name and add your first members by email.
  3. 3Open the General channel and post a message. Replies create threads automatically.
  4. 4Click the 'Summarise' button on long threads for a one-tap AI bullet-list digest.
  5. 5Green / amber / grey dots next to avatars show live presence (refreshes every 30s).
Publish a website from a paragraph
Use the AI Site Builder to turn a one-line prompt into a multi-page, embeddable site.
  1. 1Open /build and type your idea: 'a landing page for a yoga studio in Austin'.
  2. 2Copilot designs the structure, generates copy, builds the pages and persists to your dashboard.
  3. 3Open the SiteEditor → click 'Publish' to assign a slug.
  4. 4Use 'Embed' to drop the site into Notion / Webflow / Framer via a single iframe snippet.
  5. 5Optionally point a custom domain at the site — see /docs/custom-domains (coming soon).
Track competitor traffic
Use Rank Lookup as a free, modern Alexa replacement. Watchlist + sparkline + full trend chart.
  1. 1Open /rank from the sidebar.
  2. 2Paste a competitor URL — get global rank, estimated monthly visits, score & engineering signals in 2s.
  3. 3Click the star to add to your watchlist (up to 25 domains).
  4. 4Click the sparkline OR the new Activity icon to open the full historical trend chart with 3 series (rank/visits/score).
  5. 5Select 2-5 rows and hit 'Compare' for a head-to-head winner-by-metric table.
Audit a website's security
One-click cybersecurity score for any URL — TLS, headers, cookies, sensitive-path probe.
  1. 1Open /security-scan.
  2. 2Paste the URL you want to audit (works for any public site, not just yours).
  3. 3Run a shallow scan first (5s) for the score + headers + TLS + cookies.
  4. 4Enable 'Deep scan' to probe 9 sensitive paths (/admin, /.env, /.git/config, …) with a smart SPA-fallback heuristic.
  5. 5Review findings ranked by severity and apply the suggested fixes.
